The small township and surrounding area of Woodside on the South Gippsland Highway between Yarram (20 kilometers away) and Sale (53 kilometers away) is host to less than 300 permanent residents but grows in number over the holiday periods.
Where Is Woodside Beach? – A ten kilometer drive towards the coast from the Woodside township will take you to Woodside Beach which is known to be the beginning of the beautiful Ninety Mile Beach. See map at the bottom of the page.
Woodside Beach Facilities – There are toilets, playground and a large sheltered picnic and barbecue area along with the Surf Life Saving Club Rooms.
The swimming beach here is patrolled over the summer months and camping spots are available in the huge caravan park located adjacent to the beach just a short walk over the sand dune.
From the roadway near Woodside you can see the tallest construction in the southern hemisphere, the aerial mast of the Woodside VLF Transmitter.
Woodside Township Facilities – The Woodside township itself is located 10 kilometers inland from the Woodside Beach. Facilities here include a petrol station, service station, the Woodside General Store, a local country pub, primary school, church and caravan park.
