Wilsons Prom Bush Fire 2009
Photographs And Map Of Bushfires At Wilsons Promontory February 2009 – The Wilson’s Promontory bush fires that have been burning for most of February 2009, and these pictures were taken from Corner Inlet Marine Park at Toora, Port Welshpool and Ameys Track in Foster.
According to some reports, 40% of ‘The Prom’ has been burnt out, but if you look at the map below from Parks Victoria sent in a press release, then the total area as of 26th Feb is considerably larger.
From Ameys Track in Foster where we can see almost the entire expanse of Wilsons Promontory across Corner Inlet, it cerainly appeared to be buring from one end to the other.
