This moody and lovely photo gallery here includes Tarwin River after the floods, boardwalks, the main road, toilet block, local signs, people on the beach, fishing on the beach, horses, seagulls, sand, native coastal plants, surf club rooms, painted murals and more. Enjoy!
Only a 2 hour drive from Melbourne makes Venus Bay a popular day trip as well as holiday resort. It is also renowned for is beautiful sunsets, so please consider walks on the beach in the evening to really enjoy the magnificent views. The supermarket stocks an excellent range of supplies and serves hot food in their cafe. There are several other cafes, a pizza shop, bars and takeaways, that are open mainly during the summer months and on weekends.
The caravan park has great facilities for holiday makers and families and there is a good local hairdresser and masseur. I’m told that the pub at Tarwin Lower, runs a courtesy bus at various times of the year. There you’ll also find some other shops including a general store and an excellent Health Food Store as well.
