The Summer Palace
The Summer Palace was aptly named to be a haven of coolness in the common steamy hot weather experienced in the warmer months in China. The central lake was quite majestic and a hive of activity with many people enjoying the rides, paddle boats and dragon boats. The covered walkways were massed with culturally significant art and I couldn’t help but be impressed by the attention to detail in much of the work.
A very popular tourist destination that’s well worth the time to visit. The pollution clouded the sky even here, but you kind of get used to seeing it after being there a while. I do appreciate Australia even more now for its healthful and clear skies.
