Powlett River is a short stream of water which flows in between Wonthaggi, Dalyston and Kilcunda on the Bass Coast in South Gippsland. You can access the Mouth Of The Powlett River from the Bass Highway just south west of Dalyston.
A short stroll along a tee tree lined walkway will take you to where the River joins the sea.
There’s a Caravan Park, picnic area and not much else, but the scenery is pretty and the location is peaceful and native wildlife can often be viewed from the car as you drive into the area.
Other interesting towns to visit close to the Powlett River include Archies Creek and Kilcunda.
