Corner Inlet Coastal Park
ABOUT THE MAP, THE PHOTOGRAPHS, CORNER INLET & NOORAMUNGA MARINE PARKS – Corner Inlet is a large and sheltered inlet located between Port Franklin, Toora Beach, Barrys Beach, Port Welshpool and Wilsons Promontory and can be accessed from boat ramps at Toora, Port Albert, Port Franklin and Yanakie. Sometimes called Nooramunga Marine Park, this diverse area contains species of marine life of which many are only known to exist exclusively in this environmentally protected coastal and marine park.
You can see the townships that provide access into the Corner Inlet or Nooramunga Marine Park run off the South Gippsland Highway via Port Welshpool, Port Albert, McLoughlins Beach or Yanakie. You can see clearer access points on the map at the bottom of the page.
Corner Inlet is also a haven for a large contingency of migrating birds. Commercial fishing has not been allowed in the Inlet for a number of years in oder to protect the sometimes fragile environment from human disturbance. Find out more about Corner Inlet on the South Gippsland Website.
