Cape Woolamai
Photographs, Information and Map of Cape Woolemai On Phillip Island.
About Cape Woolamai – Cape Woolamai is a small town, beach and headland at the south eastern tip of Phillip Island on the Bass Coast in Victoria. The Cape Woolamai State Fauna Reserve and the Phillip Island Airfield are close by.
Cape Woolamei Walking Trails – There are several sandy tracks that wind along the cliff tops that are well signed and provide easy to moderate walking conditions.
As you walk towards the top you will enjoy a vast panorama of the Island. Surfers highly regard the Woolamai Surf Beach and surfing competions are held regularly there.
You will also see the large burrowed area that the short-tailed shearwaters (mutton birds) use en masse. These small migratory birds apparently fly to Alaska each April.
How To Get To Cape Woolamai – From Melbourne take the Bass Highway to Phillip Island. As you pass over the Bridge at San Remo and enter Phillip Island, the turnoff to Cape Wollamei is the first major raod on your left. For more comprehensive directions, see map on the bottom of the page.
